I also cannot say enough about our guide. He is extremely well informed, not only from an historical perspective, but is happy to discuss modern Israel, its politics and even pop music. He kept everyone entertained and happy, from pre-teens to grandparents. He is also very well known!
Every place we went we were welcomed warmly and given special treatment. That was also true at the hotels, where we were given the best rooms. I doubt there is a suite in Jerusalem with a better view of the old city. So many people made us promise to say hello to Susan in Miami that we lost count.
Finally, the twinning program at Yad Vashem and the bar-mitzvah ceremony on top of Masada were certainly the most moving and memorable moments of the trip. All in all, we had fun, experienced and learned a lot, and have precious memories that will last a lifetime.
