Thank you for a wonderful, well-planned itinerary.
Our trip was spectacular! Our escorts were always waiting for us as planned and truly made getting through the airports a breeze. We felt like real VIPs going through passport control and avoiding lines. That was a special treat. The King David was our most favorite hotel--top notch staff and service, everyone so polite and attentive and spoke English well. Here we felt like royalty. The kibbutz hotel was quaint--their food was excellent and for Shavuot they prepared everything outside and had someone singing during dinner. It was quite lovely and peaceful even though the place was filled. Our guide---I can't express how ideal he was for our family. He captured each of us from the very beginning with his storytelling and his knowledge of history. He has a marvelous sense of humor and is not afraid to laugh at his English accent when the kids poke fun. His life story is amazing in itself--a soldier with emotions, a commander of a tank unit, mixed martial arts expert and ultra marathon runner. We heard stories of his children and of his father's experiences in Auschwitz. Combine his candor with his humor and his knowledge, add in information on Middle East relations today and why each of Israel's borders is so important, watch his eyes light up as he talks about the many people who came before us/the ruins left behind---time with our guide passed so quickly. He gave us a gift of love for the country, Israel, and an admiration for it's people. We shared some wine in Eilat as he rested before heading home to Tel Aviv. It was a painful goodbye for me--through my tears I told him how much he meant to me, how thankful I was for his guidance on this trip, how grateful I was for having met him and for all he brought to our family. The kids won't forget him--and I know that neither will David and I.
